Amazing Built-In Beds: {Inspiration}

10 Amazing Built-In Beds {to inspire you and make you jealous}

Several months ago, my 4 year-old son started begging for bunk beds to share with his 2 year-old little brother. I told him maybe he could have them when he's older, but right now I just didn't think that they were ready. Soon after that conversation, I started coming across all sorts of fun built-in versions all over the internet. Who could blame him for wanting some when there are so many cool options? After coming across the photos below, I now secretly want some for myself. Ok, maybe not - but how cool are these built-in sleeping spaces?

These built-in bunk beds by August Fields would be an awesome guest spot in a basement or extra large bonus room. Or maybe if you have loads of kids and are short on bedrooms? Actually, the more I think about it, I'd love this for my boys' room - two bunks for them, and two for their little friends. Love the striped bedding too.

I think these are pretty fun. (And I think my boys would agree.)

These colorful bunk beds are adorable! Love the painted wood planks surrounding them.

Or this vibrant, colorful one.

This one is very cute, and I love the little desk nook beside the bed.

I L-O-V-E these! Everything about them. The bright white surrounding the pops of orange and blue in the bedding. Perfect for a little boy's room.

 I'll take these for myself, thankyouverymuch.

How fun would these be in a bonus room/hangout room? Perfect for guests, especially if your kids have friends spending the night.

 I absolutely love the rolling ladders. Oh, and everything else about this space too.

Since my boys are still too young for bunk beds, I think we'll go with twin beds instead and put these ideas on the "maybe in a few years" list. I'll be attempting to make their headboards all by myself - so stay tuned! For now, we'll just daydream about these fun, whimsical built-in sleeping spaces. Maybe someday...

What do you think about these built-in beds? Do you want one for yourself your kids?

  1. I especially love the ones with the cottage feel -- my boys had some when they were younger, but not of the built-in variety. So many more wonderful options out there now!

  2. I definitely want these, but I have no reason to have bunk beds or even a small bed anymore. However, when I was younger, I had a bunk bed since before I could remember. I climbed all over that thing like a jungle gym! I didn't share it with anyone though. I just... had one for some reason.

    I especially love the ones that are enclosed and with curtains... I tried having my dad build something like that for me, but he gave up sadly.

    1. Bunk beds as jungle gyms are so much fun! I did the same thing as a kid. I agree the ones with curtains are a lot of fun. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. These are amazing but as the mom of two boys that move all over the place in their sleep I'd have some serious safety concerns with a few of those models. Sadly neither of my boys rooms could accommodate 2 sets of bunks so these are not in our future but a girl can dream right?

    1. I agree on the safety concerns! My boys rooms wouldn't fit these bunks either, but maybe our basement someday? It would be fun for sleep-overs.

  4. Maybe I'm crazy but I want one of these bed in my room. I will have a small room so that bed will be the best idea.

  5. These are such cool finds!

    We recently bought a house and that attic actually had a built-in bed (single, not bunked). It's really cool, but there's no way I could make someone sleep in our attic where we store Christmas decorations. It might be fun in the future for our nieces and nephews to be able to "camp out" up there though when they visit.

  6. These are great ideas! I love the idea of building out the bed/ desk space. This leaves more room to play with less furniture around.

  7. I really am liking the built in bunks. Super cool! I always thought it would be fun to have a bonus room with built in bunks, nothing else, just bunks.
